Dr. Victor Canivell, Director of companies (Barcelona), Chairman of ERA BIOTECH® Board of Directors Victor Canivell has a successful thirty year executive track record in the IT industry. He is currently Chief Sales Officer at the SaaS productivity start-up WorklMeter, and serves as Chairman of the Board at ERA BIOTECH® and of Integromics S.L., two startups in the biotech business. He has previously driven as CEO startups in the security business and has been EMEA VicePresident and Director at IT multinationals (Hewlett Packard, Silicon Graphics and 3Com). These responsabilities have driven him to work and live in a number of countries (Germany, UK, Switzerland, USA and Spain). He has a PhD in Physics from UB, an MBA from ESADE, has followed management trainings at IESE and INSEAD, and is an alumnus of the CEO Collaborative Forum. |

Mr Lieven de Smedt, Innotune (Gent, Belgium) Lieven A. De Smedt is a seasoned entrepreneur in the chemical and biotechnology industry for the last twenty five years. He is the CEO of InnoTune® and acted as business executive in various mid-size, high technology, private and public companies, a.o. Metabolic Explorer® SA in France, ChiRex® Ltd in the UK, Avantium® in the Netherlands. He is the co-founder of Revolymer® Ltd in the UK where he was the Chief Business Officer. He held previously various Marketing and Business Development positions at Albemarle Corp and Amylum NV. Natively a Belgian, he is a passionate global business traveler and understands the value of bringing the right parties together. He holds an agricultural engineering degree, a MBA from the University of Leuven (Belgium) and a MIF from the TIAS Business School. His professional life-time motto is “Reducing Innovation into sustainable Business Practice”. |

Ferran Lemus, CEO Highgrowth Partners (Barcelona) With vast experience of the financial and venture capital sectors, Ferran Lemus has participated directly in over twenty-five operations. His career has unfolded mainly in the financial sector, with senior posts in the former Banco de Vizcaya and Banco de Argentaria/Banco Exterior, including that of Director General of Argentaria in France and Regional Director for Catalonia for the Banca Corporativa. A former Director General of Catalana d’Iniciatives, S.A., he has also obtained 2 years hands-on experience of the advanced technologies in the United States, where - on behalf of the Zona Franca Consortium (Development Agency) - his mission was to attract high-technology companies to Catalonia. Ferran Lemus holds an Economics degree from the Universidad de Barcelona and a master’s degree in European Studies from the University of Reading (UK), and has also taken post-graduate courses at the University of Columbia (USA). |

Dr. José María García Antón, Chairman of Lipotec Grup (Barcelona) Ph.D. in Chemistry (University of Barcelona, 1978), Post-Doc in Organic Chemistry (University of Oslo, 1979), Research Scientist at the CSIC – Centro Superior de Investigaciones Científicas - (1979-1988), Master in Business Administration (CEPADE, 1982), Managing Director of Lipotec S.A. since 1988, Chairman of the Board of Directors of DiverDrugs S.L., Managing Director of Lipofoods S.L. and Director of GP Pharm. Dr. García is the author of more than 100 scientific papers and international patents. Member of the Scientific Committee of the European Federation of Biotechnology (1982-1990) and General Secretary of the Industrial Chemistry Spanish Society (1990-1996). |

Dr. Blanca Llompart, Founder and team leader at ERA Biotech (Barcelona) Blanca Llompart, licensed in Biology, received her PhD in Plant Molecular Biology in 2002 from IBMB-CSIC in Barcelona. She started the activities of ERA BIOTECH® in August 2002 as a co-founder. Currently Blanca is directing a research department and works as well as scientific project leader. Besides this, she also coordinates part of the HR department. |

Sr. Emilio Ramos Gorostiza, Chief Operations Officer at AXIS Participaciones Empresariales (Madrid) Mr Emilio Ramos was born in Madrid in the year 1958, he is an Industrial Engineer, he has and Executive MBA from I.E. (Madrid), and belongs to Axis Participaciones Empresariales from the year 1990. Nowadays he his Director of Operations. |
