ERA BIOTECH® is a mid-size biotechnology company, developing break-through innovations for existing enzymes and step-changes for novel recombinant vaccines. We call ourselves a science-based commercial organization and are with 20 highly educated, international scientists and product developers, based in Barcelona at the Science Park.

ERA BIOTECH® was founded in 2002 (initially called ERA Plantech) as part of a project initiated at the CSIC included in the Bioincubadora CIDEM-PCB of the Parc Científic de Barcelona.

The company developed a robust technological platform through a complete screening process of a wide variety of proteins produced in multiple hosts (ie. plants, filamentous fungi, insect cells,..) and which led to the selection of the current pipeline. It also had a successful €2million proof-of-concept agreement with a major US/CH company on biopharmaceuticals (2009-2010).

 

The pipeline (2012) consists of 2 distinct groups of products/projects :

-       stable and immobilized enzymes, difficult to express enzymes,

-       adjuvant-free vaccines for animal and human health.
